About the Exhibition

Bridging Worlds brings together a body of generative, data-driven, and immersive works that explore how systems, rules, and technologies shape the worlds we inhabit and imagine.

The exhibition spans interactive installations, real-time AI systems, sensor-driven pieces, and pattern-based generative visuals presented as both digital and physical works. Many works connect ideas first explored through early algorithmic and generative experiments in the 1990s with contemporary tools and contexts, including environmental data, immersive media, and responsive digital environments.

Several pieces emerged through collaboration across Scotland’s creative-tech community, from environmental data projects and workshops to experimental performance and immersive exhibitions. Together, the works form a network of interconnected “worlds” shaped through code, motion, behaviour, and participation.

Visitors can expect evolving digital forms, responsive environments, and works that blur the boundaries between physical and virtual space.

Artist

David Oxley is a creative technologist whose practice combines generative art, interactive systems, data visualisation, and immersive technologies. His work often revisits long-standing interests in algorithmic systems and emergence, re-examining them through contemporary tools such as AI, real-time data processing, and immersive environments.

Recent projects include Sphaerosymphony, an environmental data-driven audiovisual system, alongside a growing body of tactile and digital generative works developed through exhibitions, collaborations, and independent research.

Optional Ways to Support the Exhibition

When you book a free ticket to Bridging Worlds, you’ll also have the option to purchase a limited-edition print or an art pack. These are entirely optional, but they’re a lovely way to support the exhibition while taking home something from my practice.

Earlier in the project, I also ran a limited-time Bridging Worlds Supporter Token on Tezos (a highly energy-efficient Proof-of-Stake blockchain). This experimental option was aimed primarily at Web3-savvy collectors and helped support the exhibition during its development phase.

The open edition supporter token has now closed, with 32 tokens collected. Supporters receive optional benefits such as digital airdrops, exhibition recognition, and selected physical works during the exhibition period.

Details for the token are on a dedicated page:
