Generative art, immersive experiences and creative technology.
I’m David Oxley, an artist and creative technologist based in Edinburgh. I work across generative art, interactive installations, immersive experiences, data-driven music and real-time visual systems.
My projects often combine code, sensors, sound, visuals, AI, Raspberry Pi systems and web technologies, moving between finished artworks, public events, collaborations and experimental prototypes.

Sphaerosymphony
Sphaerosymphony transforms measured air quality data into evolving music and visuals. Created with Piera Morlacchi, the project has been presented through VR, tablets, talks and public events, with future versions moving towards a more physical installation.
It is part artwork, part environmental communication, and part attempt to make the air around us something people can hear, see and discuss.

What I make
Finished artworks, live systems and things in between.
My practice moves between gallery artworks, interactive installations, browser-based 3D worlds, real-time image systems, public talks, games, sensors, spatial sound and technical development for other artists.
Some pieces are polished artworks. Some are experiments. Some are built for a particular event, exhibition or collaboration. The common material is usually code, but the form changes depending on the project.
